ABOUT PSYCHEDELIC CULTURE 2027: BEYOND CONSENSUS

Our conference provides a platform for Indigenous leaders, researchers, clinicians, policymakers, artists, advocates, healthcare professionals and community organizers to experience meaningful connection and critical dialogue centered around ethics and cultural integrity in the rapidly evolving field of psychedelic healing. This year’s conference will offer two days of immersive programming across two simultaneous tracks, along with a dedicated day of workshops and community gatherings designed to foster deeper connection and collaboration.

As psychedelic medicine enters the mainstream, Beyond Consensus challenges the field to move beyond familiar narratives and comfortable agreement.

Beyond Consensus will feature panel discussions, workshops, ceremonies, and artistic experiences exploring topics a wide range of topics : Indigenous reciprocity and biocultural conservation; religion and psychedelics; ethical ceremony and traditional knowledge; law, policy, and legislative reform; racial equity and access; women, queer communities, veterans, and disabled populations in psychedelic spaces; perspectives from the Global South; critical reflections on psychedelic science and psychedelic-assisted therapy; sexual abuse, touch, and ethics; and dialogues between neuroscience and shamanism. Music, art, and community-centered experiences will be woven throughout the gathering, creating opportunities for learning, reflection, and collective healing.
Chacruna has long been committed to amplifying voices that are too often marginalized—including Indigenous peoples, women, queer communities, people of color, and leaders from the Global South. Guided by a commitment to justice, reciprocity, and cultural respect, we foster meaningful spaces where the ethical, cultural, social, and political questions shaping the future of psychedelics can be explored with honesty and care.

Rather than centering a single narrative, Psychedelic Culture 2027 invites meaningful exchange across worldviews, weaving together scientific research, Indigenous knowledge, lived experience, public policy, activism, and the arts. As commercial interests and Western scientific frameworks continue to dominate

the psychedelic landscape, the conference offers a vital opportunity to reconnect with the diverse traditions, communities, and values that have stewarded these medicines for generations.

Known for its interdisciplinary approach, Chacruna’s conferences foster conversations rooted in intellectual rigor, compassion, and mutual respect. Leaders gather not only to share ideas, but to build relationships that inspire ethical collaboration and collective action toward a more equitable, culturally grounded future.
