Dráulio Barros de Araújo
Dráulio Barros de Araújo is a physicist and neuroscientist, professor at the Brain Institute (UFRN), and the director of the Center for Advanced Medical Psychedelics (CAMP). He received his Ph.D. in physics applied to medicine and biology (2002), a post-doc in radiology (2002), and visiting scholar (2017-19) at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). His mission is focused primarily on psychedelic substances, particularly Ayahuasca, and DMT (pure and isolated), ranging from neuroimaging to clinical trials. He coordinated the first randomized placebo-controlled trial with a psychedelic substance in treatment-resistant depression and the first clinical trial in major depression with vaporized DMT.
