Heather Kuiper

Dr. Kuiper (she/her) is Co-Founder and Director of the Center for Psychedelic Public Health (CPPH), connecting the population-level power of public health with the collective properties of psychedelics for community, population, and planetary health. She leads CPPH’s initiatives to establish psychedelic public health as a new field rooted in equity, safety, community, and Indigenous wisdom and wellness, and to build interdisciplinary infrastructure and workforce capacity, addressing major public health challenges and promoting wellness in real-world settings. Her decades in public health research and community leadership have catalyzed new approaches to equity and environmental justice, including through the first health impact assessment of coal trains, the first public health services for internally displaced populations in Myanmar, and the first statewide analysis of health department influence on land use and transportation development. She holds a DrPH from UC Berkeley, an MPH from Johns Hopkins, and a BA from Stanford.
