Janis Phelps
Janis Phelps, PhD, is the Founder and Director of the Center for Psychedelic Therapies and Research at CIIS. Dr. Phelps developed and launched the first university accredited, post-graduate training program for psychedelic therapy and research. Her landmark 2017 publication, "Developing Guidelines and Competencies for the Training of Psychedelic Therapists", has garnered 6,200 reads, which is a testament to the interest in training worldwide. These ideas are further developed in two book chapters and other journal publications. A licensed clinical psychologist, Dr. Phelps is a board member of the Heffter Research Institute, which has conducted highly influential psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy research since the 1990's. She consults internationally on training psychedelic facilitators and therapists. Janis is passionate about supporting humans in the growth of their capacity for embodied compassion and altruism for each other and all species on our planet. Climate change and the imperative of sustainability and biodiversity keep
