Kamal Abu
Dr. Kamal Abu-Shamsieh is Director of the Interreligious Chaplaincy Program and Assistant Professor of Practical Theology at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California. He is the founder and director of Ziraya Muslim Spiritual Care, a non-profit organization that is focusing on spiritual care and chaplaincy training of Muslims worldwide with emphasis on end-of-life care. He completed a one-year clinical residency in spiritual and pastoral care (CPE) at Stanford Hospital. He holds a Ph.D. in Practical Theology and Islamic Studies, a Certificate in Palliative Care Chaplaincy, an MA in Islamic Studies and Muslim-Christian Relations and a Graduate Certificate in Islamic Chaplaincy, and a BA in Linguistics.
