Miri Sluis
Miri Sluisʼ work investigates the art of transformation and liminality in relation to sound and light. As kodiCrone, they merge play with impermanence to envision new stories around consciousness and ecology. Their most current work explores the creation of autistic aurally-led Sonic Pods to make public arts spaces more inclusive for neurodiverse audiences. Born and raised near and in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, as a person of mixed racial heritage, Miri is exceedingly interested in the dichotomy between Self and Other, particularly in a colonial context. kodiCroneʼs installations explore the influence of sound on the perception of place and the more-than-human by investigating the overlap between autistic experiences and altered states of consciousness as informed by sound. They have a strong Deep Listening practice and have extensively studied the embodiment of the 8 circuit brain model with the late underground film director Antero Alliʼs Paratheatrical Re/Search.
