Ulises Lopez Castaneda

Ulises Lopez Castaneda is a U.S. Army veteran, two-time Purple Heart recipient, and Co-Founder and Executive Director of The Aya Mission (TAM), a nonprofit 501(c)(3) dedicated to reducing harm in the veteran community through psychedelic-assisted therapy. After sustaining life-altering injuries during combat and navigating a challenging transition out of the military, Ulises discovered healing through integrative practices and sacred plant medicine. Today, he leads TAM in providing holistic programs that combine ayahuasca ceremonies, spiritual guidance, peer support, and wellness education. TAM conducts comprehensive mental health screenings, pre- and post-integration surveys, and EEG studies, which have demonstrated significant improvements in emotional regulation and overall well-being among participating veterans. Under Ulises' leadership, TAM hosts flagship healing events on Memorial Day and Veterans Day weekends and is working toward establishing a permanent healing campus in Arizona. His mission is rooted in evidence-based care and community-driven healing for those who served.
